I explored the 'Gods and Goddesses' portion of the site mainly. I found it interesting that while all of their gods had humanoid bodies, a random assortment seemed to have animal heads or other morphed features. After reading I thought that maybe whenever the Egyptians observed a real-world phenomenon (like jackals hanging around Egyptian graveyards), if it concurred with something they held in some sort of high regard, they assimilated that 'animal spirit' into their god(dess) of that practice. I wonder what made them decide and think to do this rather than thinking 'hey, jackals are always hanging around the graveyard because they're scavengers and they're hungry?'

The section about mummification caught my eye. I think it is interesting that the Egyptians believed that a person's soul would leave their body after death, but return to it after the body was buried. I would love to know why they believed the soul would come back. What would happen if the soul didn't find it's body again?

I also think it is very interesting that the embalmers would leave the heart in the body as they believed the heart is the center or intelligence and feeling, and the person would need it in their afterlife.

I checked out the section on the Gods and Goddesses. It is very interesting the way the Egyptians believe the Earth was created. The story was enjoyable and the animation really adds to the imagery.

First off, I like how user friendly the site is. I also like how much information is on the website about each section. I've always been interested in the Egyptian Gods and Goddesses and I found everything that I could have wanted to know on this site.

I gravitated towards the writing section of the website. The use of hieroglyphics, to record religious and governmental information, is common knowledge, but I was surprised to learn that Egyptians had "at least three other scripts."I have heard about the Rosetta stone many times before, but was not acquainted with what it actually was. The site had a friendly, informative, explanation.

This is a relatively old site from the looks of it but easy to navigate. The part about the water clock was interesting. Using the dripping of water to tell the time during the night. It is amazing how the ancients engineered so many great inventions that were lost to time for thousands of years.
